UCSF: Heart Sounds
Dying To Talk is proud to present a special series for the University of California at San Francisco : UCSF Heart Sounds. The term "Heart Sounds" is medical jargon referring to the different types of "lub dub" sounds the heart makes when listening through a stethoscope. It also means the sounds our souls make when listening deeply with the heart. Created and hosted by me, a hospice and palliative medicine specialist, each episode features a physician at different stages of their career talking about the universally experienced moment in medical training: the first patient death as a doctor. Though every physician is as unique as the story they share, reflecting a diversity of specialty, spiritual, racial and gender identities, every conversation ultimately illuminates our shared humanity, such that Dying To Talk: UCSF Heart Sounds becomes the stethoscope for listening to the heart of what matters most. Thank you, Awtar. I look forward to hearing your thoughts as you listen, and hope you will start inviting your community to join a Huggle🤗
I'm eagerly anticipating these stories! Meanwhile it is truly sweet to have a little heart sounds clip to connect across time and space.
